Do you work in tourism in Uganda?

If so, then I bet you have been asking yourself these questions:

  • Facebook. Why do I need a Facebook Business page? How do I create one?
  • TripAdvisor. Should I be on there? How do I answer negative reviews?
  • Email marketing. Is it still useful?
  • SEO or Search Engine Optimisation. What is it? Why do I need it? How do I do it?
  • Social media. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok … Which one is best for my business?
  • Blogging. Should I create a blog? How can I work with bloggers?
  • YouTube and video marketing. Does this cost a lot of money? Is phone quality video good enough?
  • WhatsApp. Should you upgrade to a business account?
  • The Travel Directory on Diary of a Muzungu. How can a listing in the Travel Directory help improve my visibility online?

At my Introduction to Digital Marketing Training Workshops, we discuss all this and more.

During my Introduction to Digital Marketing Training Workshops I share tips based on my 14 years blogging and my professional training as a Chartered Institute of Marketing Manager. We also discuss messages that work well on social media and explore a variety of free digital marketing marketing tools. Although it is possible to have a successful business without implementing all of the above, it’s important to understand which tactics are best for your type of business.

How can we work together to promote tourism in Uganda and East Africa?

The marketing training workshops are also a chance to find out how we can work together.

Businesses who sign up to the Travel Directory get preferential access to additional marketing services such as copywriting, boosted Facebook posts, mentions in articles, and more. Click here to learn more about how Advertising works.

What format is the training?

To make the training accessible, we organise group workshops of 20 to 25 people at different locations around Uganda. Pricing varies according to the number of participants.

In-house training can also be arranged and is often better value for money for clients who have many staff. In-house training can be customised to your organisation’s specific needs. Training topics may include: general marketing theory, communications best practice, customer service training, how to write good business English, how to set up a blog. Training may be in the form of a talk, group discussions, practical exercises or Zoom sessions.
